  • Yes. Many teachers join this program that can’t read or speak Japanese.

    You will be teaching English, so the expectation is that your teaching is to be done in English.

    It is recommended to begin learning the Japanese writing systems (hiragana, katakana and even kanji) before you come because it will help you greatly in reading labels in the grocery store and singing along in Japanese church.

  • You will be on a team of 12 native English speaking, Christian teachers. You will meet weekly for prayer, encouragement and Bible Study. You will be working together to show the love of Jesus to one another and to the people of Tamura.
